The tips that follow will introduce you to many highly musical avenues to explore when programming your SoundCanvas. Everything presented here will work on the following Roland products: SoundCanvas models SC-33, SC-55, SC-55mkII, and SC-155; the Boss DS-330 Dr. Synth sound module; the JV-30 and JW-50 synthesizers; the SCC-1 GS soundcard; and the VE-GS1-01 GS expansion board for the JV-1000 music workstation.

However, it won't work with samplers like the E6400 or the E4Ultra, which use a different SysEx specification. Nor will it work with the older Proteus 1, 2, 3 or XR modules.

The SDD-2000 is very similar in tone to the SDD-3000, but actually has several more modern features that the SDD-3000 doesn't, namely dozens of progammable presets, complete MIDI controllability and sampling functionality. It gives you beautiful delays with over four seconds of sample time. You can also playback samples chromatically from a midi keyboard. Awesome chorus, flanging & vibrato...and with a fully adjustable modulation parameter you can go from subtle sound textures to totally insane experimental noise. Sync your delays to tempo via midi, tap, or just dial in your exact delay time. You can adjust your feedback for just one repeat, multi-repeats, or all the way to self-oscillation. iMaze is an Midimaze clone which is played via network. You simply log in at a server to become part of the game. The sourcecode is free available, so you can compile it on any unix machine. Even under linux. At the moment there is no port for MiNT/GEM, but i hope that will change.

Midio is Midi Radio on the World Wide Web. Click the Power button to activate Midio. A small "pop-up" window will appear. After a brief intrduction, you will hear automatic random selections of the best MIDI Jazz.
