HTML EMAIL BOILERPLATE v 0.4 updated 5/12
Welcome to the HTML Email Boilerplate. This website and its sample code creates a template of sorts, absent of design or layout, that will help you avoid some of the major rendering problems with the most common email clients out there — Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, etc. While not plug and play (you know, you'll have to do some work ;-), it will provide some helpful examples and snippets that will keep your email design rendering as true-to-form as possible.

Adactio: Journal—Hashcloud
Even if—nay when—Twitter switch over to proper URLs, there will still be many, many blog posts and other documents linking to individual tweets …and each of those links will contain #!. That means that Twitter must make sure that their home page maintains a client-side routing mechanism for inbound hashbang links (remember, the server sees nothing after the # character—the only way to maintain these redirects is with JavaScript).

StaticMatic
Web developers are used to using dynamic and frameworks like Ruby on Rails to develop applications. When it comes to working with static, non-dynamic websites it can seem like stepping back in time.

Adobe Flash FLA to HTML5
"Wallaby" is the codename for an experimental technology that converts the artwork and animation contained in Adobe® Flash® Professional (FLA) files into HTML. This allows you to reuse and extend the reach of your content to devices that do not support the Flash runtimes. Once these files are converted to HTML, you can edit them with an HTML editing tool, such as Adobe Dreamweaver®, or by hand if desired. You can view the output in one of the supported browsers or on an iOS device.

Beautiful Element Creation with jQuery
jQuery's new(ish) element creation syntax drops 'bows. For those of you who don't know — which I'm banking on quite a bit — jQuery lets you create elements and then attach an object of parameters to it. It will then use those parameters to create the element and its attributes.

Golden Spirals
A golden rectangle has its height and width in the golden ratio, which is approximately 1:1.618. These proportions have long been recognised as being aesthetically harmonious. Whether through instruction or by intuition, artists have understood how to exploit these proportions over the centuries. Examples can be found in classical architecture, medieval book construction, and even in the recent #newtwitter redesign.

Using the HTML title attribute
The HTML title attribute is problematic. It is problematic because it is not well supported in some crucial respects, even though it has been with us for over 13 years. With the rise of touch screen interfaces, the usefulness of this attribute has decreased. The accessibility of the title attribute has fallen victim to a unfortunate combination of poor browser support, poor screen reader support and poor authoring practices.

Do not use the <!-- //--> hack with scripts. It was intended to prevent scripts from showing up as text on the first generation browsers Netscape 1 and Mosaic. It has not been necessary for many years.
