Anatomy of a Crushing (Pinboard Blog)
Pinboard shares a web server with the Bedbug Registry, a kind of public forum for people fighting the pests. I started the registry in 2006 (a whole other story) and it existed in quiet obscurity until the summer of 2010, when bedbugs infested some high-profile retail stores in New York City and every media outlet in the country decided to run a bedbug story at the same time.

scraplab : when i was younger...
When I was younger, every now and again, my grandmother would cut out an interesting article from a newspaper or magazine, and post it to me. Usually they were about a great feat of British engineering, what with me being a boy and engineering being a good, wholesome, boy activity.

Remembering on the web - 5 reasons why online bookmarking is the wrong tool
I think delicious lets to do that; up to a degree of course. If you look at John Udell’s subscriptions, you know what he is going to read; and if you know what he is going to read, you can guess what he is going to write about. A portal to John Udell’s mind. Now try to beat that. I would have killed to take a look at an Umber geek’s bookmarks or installed programs list. delicious is an absolute favorite.

jeweled platypus · hypertext · "Extra Credit on the Strange Web" for no credit
This quarter I have a bunch of classes and activities but I also wanted to contribute a little to the campus newspaper, The Daily Nexus, by writing a silly web column for its associated blog. I’ve stored thousands of bookmarks in my Delicious account, and this series of blog posts is an attempt to coagulate some of my favorite bookmarks into text-blobs presentable to a general audience.

Pukka: Del.icio.us Made Simple - Michael Mistretta
Then along came Pukka - the app that makes adding bookmarks to Del.icio.us so simple and seamless that you don’t even have to think about it. Pukka functions as a desktop interface to Del.icio.us. Simply opening Pukka will allow you to enter in a URL, name for the bookmark, tags, and even an optional description. A simple tap of the return key, and your bookmark will be added to Del.icio.us in the background. Still, I thought, it’s not easy enough to add bookmarks to Del.icio.us. Then, I discovered the Pukka bookmarklet.

delicious search
There is more. If you ever search something you car about (I think of it as stuff about which I have some passion), you will most likely find better results on Delicious search than you will on Google or Y! (or any of the other smaller search engines). Delicious results are fresher, and more interesting. Take "Amazon S3" as a search. Google and Yahoo! treat it as an "informational" or "navigational" query. The top 10 results are dominated by aws.amazon.com/s3 results and one from Wikipedia. On delicious, however, you get results that are all about what you can do with Amazon S3, such as automated backup, top 10 hacks, image hosting, media file hosting, etc. Very cool.

Amazon's Mechanical Turk Used for Fraudulent Activities - ReadWriteWeb
Amazon's Mechanical Turk has fallen prey to social media spammers and it is now full of requests to spam bookmarking services for pennies per link. Although these HITs may stop short of being "fraud" in the legal sense of the word, they are certainly dishonest and unsavory. In addition to these spam bookmarking requests, we're also seeing HITs for Diggs, Stumbles, Slashdots, etc. of spammers' web pages and web sites.
