speedlimit
april 2011 by sweeney
speedlimit is a Leopard preference pane for limiting your network bandwidth to one of a couple different speeds—768k DSL, Edge, 3G, and Dialup. This is really handy for testing your iPhone app under normal Edge network conditions in the iPhone Simulator. The new version allows you to restrict the slowdown to only a specific set of hosts.

Introducing iOS Beta Builder
january 2011 by sweeney
BetaBuilder is a simple way to generate all of the deployment files you need to do your iOS Ad-Hoc beta programs wirelessly. It’s similar to services like TestFlight (they do more than just the wireless bit though – if you need a comprehensive solution, check them out too). BetaBuilder is free and the source is available.

BlackBerry Development on Mac OS X | azizuysal.com
february 2010 by sweeney
Recently, I started developing a new BlackBerry project at work. Naturally, I wanted to setup a build environment on my beloved MacBook Pro. BlackBerry development is Java based, and Java is cross-platform, and so I assumed it would be an easy setup. Was I wrong! It took a lot of research and trial-error; but in the end, I was successful and I wanted to share it here.

nvie.com » Blog Archive » A successful Git branching model
january 2010 by sweeney
In this post I present the development model that I’ve introduced for all of my projects (both at work and private) about a year ago, and which has turned out to be very successful. I’ve been meaning to write about it for a while now, but I’ve never really found the time to do so thoroughly, until now. I won’t talk about any of the projects’ details, merely about the branching strategy and release management.
