i don't use AdBlock for precisely these moral reasons; although i don't enjoy them, ads supply the bulk of the revenue for most of the services that i do enjoy. to each their own, of course, but i felt irresponsible running it.

the online extensions bit is interesting; it's good in the sense that it borrows from the Firefox model, which has been an unqualified success, but you can bet Microsoft will counter with a security related story
