This is a masked input plugin for the jQuery javascript library. It allows a user to more easily enter fixed width input where you would like them to enter the data in a certain format (dates,phone numbers, etc). It has been tested on Internet Explorer 6/7, Firefox 1.5/2/3, Safari, Opera, and Chrome.

I made Fillerati because I grew tired of reading "Lorem ipsum..." on every new design I was working on. It's built with HTML5 and CSS2/CSS3, and consequently is best viewed in a modern browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Opera. Interactivity is thanks to the jQuery JavaScript library, served via the Google Ajax Libraries API. Custom fonts for the logo and author/title (Tangerine & IM Fell Great Primer respectively) are rendered with the Google Font API. Newly added is optional translation via the Google Language API (no promises on that one). Server side the app is coded in Python and deployed on Google App Engine. Domain management, email, etc. provided by Google Apps. The source for the public domain filler text is provided by Project Gutenburg (not sanitized—use at your own risk!). GetWindowText is a very small and portable program with which you can read the window text.

By clicking the left mouse button on the button with GetWindowText icon and by holding down the left mouse button (drag), the read can be started.

Then simply hold your mouse over the window from which the text should be read.

It can be read almost all the texts, e.g. from Edit, Static, Groupbox - Controls, etc.
This program supports also directory trees (SysTreeView32), combobox, and list views (SysListView32) to read the entire contents. When you release the mouse button, the reading will be finished.

jQuery.suggest, a simple inline autosuggest jQuery plugin. It takes an array of terms as haystack and suggests the user the first item that matches what has been typed to this point. The suggestion is updated with every keystroke. Tab or Enter will accept the suggestion and update the input field accordingly.

If more than one match is found, a small indicator will appear underneath the input (you can still it via CSS as you wish). The user can then use the arrow up/down keys to cycle through the options.

The plugin has been tested using Jasmine. The test suite is included.

jQuery.smarttruncation truncates the text within the assigned element to fit and updates the string length while resizing the window.

The used technique is very responsive, since it calculates the width for each character in a pre-define set ahead of time. The generated sizes dictionary is cached and re-used if the plugin is called on an element with identical font properties.

Sometimes (in about 3-5% of all cases), due to characteristics of certain fonts, a string will still not fit. In this case the plugin will go the "common" way of chopping off on character at a time until the string fits.

The plugin can be used on file names by setting the protectExtensions option to true, keeping the extension intact.

Setting truncateCenter to true will truncate from the inside out ("Hello World" becomes "Hel…rld").

html2text is a Python script that converts a page of HTML into clean, easy-to-read plain ASCII text. Better yet, that ASCII also happens to be valid Markdown (a text-to-HTML format).

CleanHaven is a program designed to make the cleaning of text much easier. The cleaned text can be reset as the main text with additional cleaning performed. Once finished the cleaned text is available from the global cleaned text window. You may want CleanHaven to make changes to thousands of lines of contact details before importing into CRMHaven.
