RACER is an analogue recreation of a coputer racing game in the style of the classic WipeOut. It consists of a modified vintage arcade machine, a RC model car with a wireless camera, an a self-constructed racetrack/game level made entirely from cardboard. The actions of the arcade player are directly reflected by the remote controlled model car in the level. Live video image from the car’s perspective is sent back to the arcade.

It finally popped in my head to create a table with them using some of the black walnut from a tree we cut down a few years ago and had milled in the yard with a portable mill.

LIFE photographer Gjon Mili visited Picasso in 1949. Mili showed the artist some of his photographs of ice skaters with tiny lights affixed to their skates jumping in the dark–and Picasso’s mind began to race. The series of photographs–Picasso’s light drawings–were made with a small flashlight in a dark room; the images vanished almost as soon as they were created.

The "Fail Whale" is this above graphic of a whale held up by a flock of birds illustrated by Yiying Lu (@yiyinglu on twitter). It is employed during periods of downtime by the social networking service Twitter.com, which allows users to submit and share brief messages known colloquially as "tweets." When Twitter gets overloaded, users see the "Fail Whale" error message. This image brings a human touch to a moment of frustration and now is turning into a pop culture icon for the Web 2.0 crowd.
