Linux Chrome now with Flash & extensions « ☠ I could not think of a blog title ☠
july 2009 by roel
The Linux version of Chrome has been coming along fairly quickly, the latest build of Chrome for Linux now works with Flash and has extension support. It is also possible to configure the options (although there are still some TODO stubs so setting a proxy isn’t possible). Tested under Ubuntu 9.04 64bit.

HOWTO: Run Ubuntu 8.10 On the Asus Eee PC 1000 | Just Well Mixed
march 2009 by roel
The Eee 1000 comes preloaded with a special customized version of Xandros Linux, but since I run Ubuntu at home I wanted to do the same on my Eee. This turned out to be a little more complicated than I’d hoped it would be, since the bundled Xandros has been tuned by Asus to work with the Eee’s hardware, and generic Ubuntu has not. Now that I’ve got these issues resolved, I thought I’d write up how I did it in case it might help others who want to do the same thing.

october 2008 by roel
OK, I was very enthusiastic in my last entry to see my Spyder calibration device supported in ArgyllCMS. So much that I didn’t read any documentation and just typed the first command that I came across and behold, my Spyder started measuring patches. Great! However, typing the first command I came across didn’t quite produce a working icc profile.

Linux color management - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
september 2008 by roel
Linux color management has the same goal as the color management systems (CMS) for other operating systems: to achieve the best possible color reproduction throughout an imaging workflow from its source (camera, video, scanner…), onto imaging software (CinePaint, Digikam, GIMP, Krita, Scribus ...) and finally its output (monitor, video projector, printer...). In particular, color management attempts to support WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You GET)) on-screen previewing (soft-proofing) ability for color work such as retouching prior to printing.
