With the introduction on July 29, 2008 of Lightroom 2.0 and Camera Raw 4.5 a new and very exciting change has taken place. Both of these raw converters (as well as any others which are DNG 1.2 compatible) now can use camera profiles.

OK, I was very enthusiastic in my last entry to see my Spyder calibration device supported in ArgyllCMS. So much that I didn’t read any documentation and just typed the first command that I came across and behold, my Spyder started measuring patches. Great! However, typing the first command I came across didn’t quite produce a working icc profile.

Today I finally got a Spyder2 Express monitor calibration kit, and calibrated my ThinkPad's laptop. I've known it to be shockingly badly calibrated (although it is an improvement over the X20), but was curious as to how much it can be corrected.
