The very best maps move beyond the expository and become argumentative, drawing conclusions and providing answers. Many of these maps are challenging, some are utopian, and a few offer a sort of urban catharsis whereby the visualization of previously latent, unseen urban conditions manages to alter the conditions themselves. By revealing the city in maps, a new city is made.

This is fantastic. Particularly love "Alan Ball - Full Match", which seems to imply that additional information beyond movement could be encoded. Would also love to see these willfully organic diagrams (which occur as the result of an interface between the dictates of the human mind and the geometry of the soccer match) overlaid by the Cartesian order of the movement of the ball throughout the match.
