All Mouse Buttons Working - ArchWiki
december 2011 by raphman
This article is for users that have a mouse with more than 7 mouse buttons and want to be able to use all of them. Logitech makes several of these (if you have a Logitech Marble® Mouse you can also look at this page), and Microsoft makes a few as well. If you have one of these mice, read on!

Advanced interactions such as double left clicks, right clicks, mouse scrolling, and dragging (not visible here) are increasingly useful for enabling richer ways of providing input. These interaction posibilities, as useful as they are, however are often invisible to the user. More so, often multiple interactions (such as a left click and right click) are possible at the same time in a particular place. That’s where traditional cursors break down. This simple experiment, with the help of some CSS and Javascript, aims to provide clearer visual indicators and combat the problems with floating multi layered cursor affordances.

IOGraph — is an application that turns mouse movements into a modern art. The idea is that you just run it and do your usual day stuff at the computer. Go back to IOGraph after a while and grab a nice picture of what you’ve done!

Conviction widgets: Gerry Chu
june 2009 by raphman
"Haptic Mousewheel and Conviction widgets
In the real world, how strongly we feel about our intentions, actions, opinions, and emotions is called conviction. The ability to express conviction is well supported by the rich affordances of the physical world, but is poorly instantiated, if at all, in current user interfaces.
I designed conviction widgets, which uses a haptic (force-feedback) mousewheel to allow people to express and experience conviction. The use of haptics is appropriate since conviction is often expressed with the sense of touch, for example, a handshake. Like a handshake, squeezing harder expresses more conviction, while squeezing lightly expresses less conviction.
There are a variety of conviction widgets, including ones that allow parameters to locked, buttons that "test" the user's conviction, and instant messaging that allows emotional conviction to be communicated more accurately."

ManyMouse
october 2005 by raphman
"ManyMouse is a library that abstracts the handling of multiple mice input into a tiny, cross-platform API. It is meant to be used with games and non-traditional applications with unique input needs. On most platforms, it can at least make all USB mice available, but in many cases can make serial mice and built-in laptop trackpads available too."
