Possibly the only time I've seen those metal binding clips put to non-tacky use.

Again, only tangentially related to printed magazine design, but interesting from a convergent media perspective: Reworkings/reinterpretations of Penguin classics as digital narratives – Penguin seem to be doing interesting things insofaras the future of publishing/books/print is concerned. 'The 21 Steps' and 'Hard Times' are particularly good.
