Plans for new New St Station unveiled.
Well, photos of the outside and the atrium - no images of what the platforms will be like yet. Looks pretty good, if at times like a sleeping robot.

Video websites 'must vet content'
Culture, Media and Sport select committee display a shocking ignorance of how online social spaces operate. You wouldn't vet how someone uses a park - you deal with problems as they occur.

No SMS delivery for UK Twitter users
This has been all over Twitter, as you might expect, and is is rather irritating but this past of the announcement seems to have been missed in the noise:

"Twitter will be introducing several new, local SMS numbers in countries throughout Europe, in the coming weeks and months."

So hang tight people.

How high is Birmingham?
John Mostyn blogs a pice of investigation he undertook to discover whether Birmingham is the highest city in the country. It isn't, but fourth isn't to bad, after Bradford, Sheffield and Stoke-on-Trent. Manchester is 26th, which is satisfying in a petty way but the big surprise for me is Winchester at number 14. It never seemed that high when I lived there what with the coast being so close. I guess the UK's cities tend to be by large rivers so none of them are particularly high.

Kira Cochrane on the apparent backlash against feminism
To my surprise and disappointment I feel the need to be a bit of a militant feminist these days. Surely we should be over this shit already? I mean, some of this is frankly embarrassing.
