BOOK SHOW at Eastside Projects, 3 July–4 September
I suspect that as a zine person I will find this incredibly annoying, but then that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Thomas Kellner - Photography in Art
The inspiration for my TTV grids. I saw his work in a gallery window in Bloomsbury circa 2002 and have always wanted to replicate it. Could never manage the scale he manages though.

Of All The People In All The World
This performance / exhibition / etc from Stan's Cafe looks to be one of the major arts events of the season with 112 tonnes of rice in a warehouse representing ever person in the world. More on their blog too and I'm planning on reporting on it once it launches on September 12th.

Mini LED-Throwies to order
Yes, they're environmentally catastrophic but if you promise to be good and dispose of them properly after use I think you can get away with order enough supplies to make 80 of the things for 25 Euros from this German shop. If you're not sure what I'm talking about they have videos on the order page.

The only downside is I can't think of anywhere in Birmingham to throw them. It's all brick and concrete here. Ideas?

Of All The People In All The World
Fantastic looking piece by Stan's Cafe that's looks to be part performance, part installation, part something else entirely consisting of 6.7 billion grains of rice, one for each person on the planet. CiB has the links and there's a neat video trailer which makes everything clear.

Blast Theory
"is renowned internationally as one of the most adventurous artists' groups using interactive media, creating groundbreaking new forms of performance and interactive art that mixes audiences across the internet, live performance and digital broadcasting. Led by Matt Adams, Ju Row Farr and Nick Tandavanitj, the group’s work explores interactivity and the social and political aspects of technology. It confronts a media saturated world in which popular culture rules, using performance, installation, video, mobile and online technologies to ask questions about the ideologies present in the information that envelops us."

Have heard good things about this lot. To investigate.

"The journey from sketch to almost finished study for a future painting." This is the sort of thing I encourage artists to blog about - their process. A great example to show around.
