Debate site that proposes 10 principles for free expression online and then invites users to debate them. Looks like an interesting project. Sandra Coliver (OSJI) is on the Advisory Panel.

TV / Movies / Music | OpenSecrets
A large segment of the television, movie and music industry consists of movie and television studios, producers, directors, and actors -- otherwise known as Hollywood. This category also includes the recorded music industry, commercial television and radio stations and networks, as well as cable and satellite TV operators.

In general, the entertainment industry leans Democratic in its political giving. In 2008, Democrats received 78 percent of the industry’s contributions. This continues the trend of the entertainment industry contributing more to Democrats during the past two decades with 70 percent of donations going to Democrats compared to 29 percent for Republicans. Of the $48.7 million in total campaign contributions given by this industry during the 2008 election cycle, individuals associated with the industry contributed more than 80 percent, with political action committees accounting for most of the rest. Through their PACs, Comcast Corp. and Time Warner spent about $2.9 million and $2.7 million respectively during the 2008 election cycle.

Michael Geist - Why Copyright Reform Is Not the Cure for What Ails the Music Industry: Sources & Background Material
Since the posting of Why Copyright Reform Is Not the Cure for What Ails the Music Industry, my recent keynote lecture to the Nova Scotia Music Week conference, several people have written to ask for supporting documentation and background materials. The talk focused on CRIA's conventional talking points and assessed Bill C-11 provisions on statutory damages, ISP liability, the enabler provision, and digital locks. Below I've posted links to many of the supporting documents along with links to additional articles and sources on each issue. The video is embedded at the bottom of this post.
