Styling buttons in iOS WebKit and -webkit-appearance:none | 456 Berea Street
november 2011 by ohskylab
"It turned out that the buttons that looked the same in iOS Safari as in the desktop browsers all had a background gradient. For some reason, applying a background gradient makes iOS for Safari drop its native styling of buttons and apply all of the CSS properties you have specified instead of just a few of them."

WebGL - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
december 2009 by ohskylab
"A standard specification currently being developed to display 3D graphics on web browsers. It enables hardware-accelerated rich 3D graphics in web pages without the need for special browser plug-ins, on any platform supporting OpenGL or OpenGL ES. Technically it is a binding for JavaScript to native OpenGL ES 2.0 implementation, to be built in to browsers." Blimey. It's running in Firefox and Webkit nightlies, apparently.

QuirksBlog: Apple is not evil. iPhone developers are stupid.

"Apple is not evil. iPhone developers are stupid. Their problems with the App Store approval process are entirely their own fault and they deserve no commiseration." Rather extreme viewpoint from PPK (with some merit, though).

Percent Widths in Safari

Curse you, Safari. "[...] the browser must support decimal values for widths. Safari (1.2.2) does not, instead calculating the pixel width value from the truncated width-as-integer value."
