LOUD3R
A stable of weblogs that aggregate content on niche topics. The pseudo-l33tsp34k names are cringe-worthy: SN3AKER for trainers, WATCH3R for telly, &c.

Anil Dash: Embedded Journalism
"I've created a javascript embed tag at the bottom of every post on my blog, to let you embed the title, an excerpt of the post, and a list of commenters on the post in your own blog or site." Interesting idea.

kottke.org is ten years old today (kottke.org)
I found kottke.org via plasticbag.org, which I think was the first weblog I read. (I'm a n00b: 10/10/01)

BBC NEWS | The Editors | We're watching you...
On the non-spookiness of people actually reading what you write about them on your weblog.

no2self wiki: RecentChanges
I just noticed that Rob is using a wiki to manage commenting on his weblog. Interesting idea (though my first thought was that anyone could edit my comment after I made it, without me ever knowing.)

10 Most Powerful Women in Blogging
Joi Ito, one of the ten most powerful women in weblogging. (For those who don't know of him, Joi is a bloke. Lord knows how you could be aware of him and not know that.)

Tumblelogs (kottke.org)
I was just about to post on these strange new/old-style weblogs. A good way to deal with the fancy modern combo of del.icio.us/Flickr/weblog/etc we find ourselves with (as opposed to a single reverse-chronologically ordered personal homepage).

Franz Ferdinand: Official Site
Thee Franz (as no one calls them) have a really good weblog, except there's no permalinks or comments - a retro statement, perhaps?

Blogger Buzz: Word Up
"With this little number, you can work in Word like you normally do and then save your document as a post to your Blogger blog." Wow. That lowers the already low bar to entry. Good stuff.

Starting and Running a Political Weblog: The Basics
Persuading elected representatives to use weblogs. Great idea, but the snippy tone will surely put off more representatives than it will attract?

hitherto.net :: writing: Not A Damn Blog 2005
A good anti-blog piece on a not-blog. (I agree wholeheartedly with the dismissal of the words 'blog' and 'blogosphere' on aesthetic/linguistic grounds.)

Ann McKechin MP for Glasgow Maryhill
My new MP (I moved recently) has a pseudo-weblog type thing (no permalinks, nor proper archives, and a press release-ish tone, which is a shame).
