Near Future Laboratory » Flavonoid
"Flavonoid is a little device that’s used to capture your physical movement and translate that into digital data." It's essentially a cleverer pedometer. Want one. Or a future one with GPS too, that would constantly upload info to somewhere handy, so I could parse it and pass it on to Daytum, Fire Eagle, &c. or ping my friends with pertinent information ("Jack is already in the pub, tapping his fingers impatiently"). An iPhone could do this sort of thing if only it allowed apps to run in the background.

Evernote User Forum • View topic - What about openness?
Evernote's developers seem weirdly resistant to providing a feature that every sane user must want: export. The current proprietary XML format fudge doesn't count - if I put a text file or image into Evernote, I should be able to get a text file or image out (they have a point about the difficulty of exporting mixed notes, containing images, text and audio in multiple formats, of course). To be honest, I'm more annoyed with myself than Evernote. If I'd checked to see how they handled export, I never would've started using the app in the first place, so it's by own fault I'll now have to laboriously cut and paste all my notes if I want to keep them safe.

Hivelogic - Regarding Backups
I'm a bit of a backup loon (SuperDuper! nightly clone and Time Machine to different external drives + Subversion + .Mac + all text files backed up to a thumb drive I carry everywhere with me) so the Drobo looks very tempting for an added layer of safety.

Mobile Internet Access - Mobile Internet - T Mobile
£20 a month for 1.8Mbps mobile broadband, including Hotspot access. Not bad, given that I spent more than £30 on Wifi last month (thank you, tightwad hotels).
