NetNewsWire Beta
Google Reader sync - woo! I assume this is due to Newsgator's online feed-reader being so unbelievably shitty that it forced me to stop using the brilliant NNW - which I'd used since 2002 - on the Mac/iPhone. (I need the web reader for use on my Eee PC 701; though now I'm wondering if there's a Google-syncing app for Linux.)

How To Launch Software (Aaron Swartz's Raw Thought)
As a user, I'm inclined to agree with Aaron. I've been an early user/beta tester of plenty of stuff, and I'd much rather the slow approach of contributing bug reports, inviting people who I think would also like and enjoy the app, ending up with something well-tuned and usable. With "Hollywood" apps, I'll sign up, find bugs but get no response from the developers, because squillions of other users are reporting the same problems, then, more often than not, decide that, despite the hype, I don't really need the app after all - the result is that I'll either tell no one about the app, or slag it off (partly my fault for being a trend slurper, but still...). The prime example of a slow burning launch is Flickr, which was pretty rubbish when I started using it (back when it was basically a GNE spin-off chat room with image-sharing options), but gradually improved to the point that I was pretty much begging my friends to sign up.

Delish, a Del.icio.us Client for Mac OS X by Pine Point Software LLC
First thought: ooh, pretty. Second thought: Er, why would I use it in place of the website?

Ranchero Software: NetNewsWire 3.0d46: Sneak Peak Release
Good: Spotlight search. Bad: still no useful search inside the app, and it looks totally shit (blue background on the subscriptions column, vast cheesy bullets next to the feed items). Depressing.

Nightly Tester Tools
Insanely handy Firefox extension that lets you trick the latest beta into working with your existing extensions. Most of the 20-odd I use appear to work fine with 2.0b2.

Google!
I remember using Google when it looked like this in 1998, but didn't remember that they've had a fondness for launching stuff in beta since day one.

Mozilla Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 Release Notes
Seems a lot perkier, to use a technical term, and it has _drag and drop reordering for browser tabs_.

Flock has landed.
"We're introducing the world's most innovative social browsing experience. We call it the two-way web." They mean drag 'n' drop weblogging, Flickr integration, del.icio.us for storing bookmarks.

Google SMS UK
Searching via SMS could be very handy - finding a nice pub in a strange town, that sort of thing, but the results returned seem a bit limited.
