First, add a photo with your contact information onto the card so that anyone looking through the photos on the camera will come across it. Next, add a series of text documents to the root directory of your memory card (the first directory that appears when you access the card on a computer).

Google Chrome has been colour space aware since version 3 (I think) but a recent search for "Google Chrome colour management" on Google, ironically, did not yield instructions for how to activate it. For this reason, and for personal reference, I am posting the instructions here. I have only tested this functionality in Windows Vista but I am guessing that Windows XP w/ Windows Color Control Panel installed and Vista and beyond plus Mac OS should work similarly.

Speed Racer V2.0—Think Tank Photo
The Speed Convertible series are hybrid shoulder bags/belt packs designed for photographers who value versatile and ergonomic camera bags. First and foremost a contoured shoulder bag, the Speed Convertibles keep photo gear readily accessible. The wide opening flip-top design hinges away from the body to rapidly work in and out of the bag. As a shoulder bag, the Speed Convertibles offer durable zippers, a secondary main compartment entry, and multiple pockets for small accessories. A cushioned shoulder strap with a long section of padding maximizes comfort while carrying the bag in different positions.

To adapt a Speed Convertible bag as a belt pack, deploy the integrated waist belt which is conveniently concealed in two zippered pockets on either side of each Speed Convertible bag. Fastening the flexible belt around the waist provides better stability while walking, especially when used in tandem with the included shoulder strap. The waist belt also features Modular rail sections for attaching Modular, Skin or Multimedia components to increase gear carrying capacity as needed. The three bags in the Speed Convertible series, Speed Demon V2.0, Speed Freak V2.0 and Speed Racer V2.0 offer photographers choice of the right bag size to suit their equipment and the adaptability for a variety of different assignments.

Konica FT-1 Top Cover and FPC Connectors - a set on Flickr
These photos and repair tips describe how to access the 3 flexible printed circuit (fpc) connectors under the FT-1 top cover. Deteriorated foam compression strips and corrosion between the connector contacts themselves are often are the cause of partial or no operation for this model. These photos are for the more commonly seen first version pc and fpc boards; improved materials and a revised circuit configuration were used in a later version of the electronics, but similar repair procedures would be used.

The Curious Little Darkroom That Fits in a Box
Way back in 1851, photographers were an exclusive band of badass adventurers.

Marauders of the land, they hauled dark rooms across majestic mountain ranges and captured images of the countryside for the first time ever.

Like the great photographers of yore, you can now tow your camera and darkroom wherever you may be. Meet the Darkroom in a Box, a pinhole camera and portable darkroom in one.

Designed and hand assembled in France, it's a miniature photo lab that lets you shoot and develop a photo all in one clever box.

Just how clever is it? Shooting and developing only takes 3 steps. 1) Slip photo paper into provided holder and place in the box. 2) Expose the photo via a pinhole in the top of the box. 3) Steep the photo in the provided developer and fix.

Voilà!: your very own hand shot and developed photo! Yup, it's pretty much magic in a box, and you're pretty much a badass.

Thesography displays EXIF data for images uploaded with WordPress. It utilises WordPress’ own feature of storing EXIF fields in the database, and also enables import of latitude and longitude EXIF to the database upon image upload.

The purpose of this plugin is to make dislaying EXIF data as convenient as possible, while using as much of WordPress' native image handling as possible.

EXIF can be displayed via a shortcode, via a function in your theme files and it can be inserted automatically into the Thesis theme from DIYthemes.

The Photon Fantastic | “Brother” (Rolleiflex 6008i, 80 mm f/2.8, Kodak...
I find that shooting portraits in the square with a “normal” (80 mm) lens very often leads to the problem of where to put your sitter’s hands. The lens is not long enough to frame the head and shoulders tightly, and yet too long for full length studies, especially in confined indoor environments like this one. Combine the focal length and minimum focussing distance of this lens and the typical result is a half-body shot, which makes hand placement critical.

How I post my iPhone photos to Flickr and Twitter | johnbiehler.com
Thanks to a tip by Ianiv awhile ago, I’ve discovered a great way to post iPhone photos online very quickly and without a lot of effort. Sure you can simply email your photos to Flickr or post them to Twitter via Twitpic, but why not do both at the same time and with more control over the process and not have to double post photos to different services?

This requires a couple of apps to get working. First of all, you’ll need Mobile Fotos which is a great Flickr management app that has a number of features we’ll take advantage of. The app lets you view and manage your Flickr account from your iPhone much more so than the mobile Flickr web version. Unlike emailing your photos to Flickr, Mobile Fotos can upload your photos at the full resolution they were taken at.

You’ll also need a Twitter client for your iPhone…I use Tweetie but Mobile Fotos supports most of them. You’ll also need to setup both applications with their host APIs which is a painless process and only takes a couple of clicks to setup. The apps will walk you through the authentication process.

Photography Reading List - I Still Shoot Film
A lot of people ask me, “Where’s a good place to start” with film photography, which is a really broad question. Personally, my first experience was in the class I took when I was 10 years old, so I started off having a teacher explaining things to me… and continued that for many many years… I would recommend taking a class first and foremost, but I get that a lot of people can’t afford darkroom expenses, in which case I recommend reading. Lots of reading. In fact, I’ll give you a portion of what was my required reading list in the BFA Photography program at the School of Visual Arts:

35 Undiscovered Photographers - Discovered by You
I could say a lot about this article and the photographers featured in it… but I’m going to keep it short so you can start discovering some amazing artists. You nominated your favorite undiscovered photographer, then I chose my favorite photo from their work and contacted them about using it in this article. Now it’s your turn again — go check out their stuff! And by no means does the term “undiscovered” imply anything about the quality of their work or their “popularity” — nor do I want to argue about the meaning of the term… just enjoy the photos.

It’s so easy it's ridiculous. It’s so easy that I can’t even begin – I just don’t know where to start. After all, it’s just looking at things. We all do that. It’s simply a way of recording what you see – point the camera at it, and press a button. How hard is that? And what's more, in this digital age, its free - doesn't even cost you the price of film. It’s so simple and basic, it's ridiculous.

Interview: Filmmaker Eric Bricker - Events - Dwell
After a chance meeting with the captivating Shulman, filmmaker Eric Bricker set to work directing the first feature-length documentary on the national treasure: Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius Shulman. Narrated by Dustin Hoffman and starring a litany of design stars—architect Frank Gehry, designer Tom Ford, artist Ed Ruscha, publisher Benedikt Taschen, and Dwell's own LA editor Frances Anderton—the film was the winner of the 2009 Palm Springs International Film Festival Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature. It even got rave reviews from master lenser Shulman himself (he has seen the film four times, and says he never tires of it). Visual Acoustics will screen at this year's Dwell on Design: A Night at the Movies on Saturday, June 27, at the Geffen Contemporary in downtown Los Angeles, followed by a Q&A with Bricker himself. In the meantime, we caught up with Bricker at his home in Austin for a few Q&As of our own.
