Change the Default Format and Save Location for Screenshots on a Mac
Macs have a pretty good built-in screenshot utility, but it doesn't come packed with a lot of options. One of the problems is the fact you can't easily change the file type or save location of those screenshots. However, software blog Addictive Tips shows how to change both with a simple Terminal command.

Use Gmail for iPad in Google Chrome
Google has recently released a version of Gmail optimized for iPad, Apple's lightweight computer. Gmail for iPad is similar to the iPhone version, but the main difference is that Gmail has a reading pane.

"We're launching an experimental two-pane user interface to take advantage of its large touchscreen and tablet form factor. Building upon the Gmail for mobile web app, this new interface displays your conversations on the left and your messages on the right hand side."

Get the link to your Google Talk Chatback
This simple hack will liberate you from the silly speech bubble that the google chatback gadget offers. You will be able to include the link in anything. Make it a tiny URL link, include it in emails, put it in your myspace, use it on your blog - in your design - whatever you want.

Technobabbles - Voyagerfan5761's Blog: How To: Safely Use Twitter Notification Enhancement Services
As you all have probably heard, Twitter is gaining popularity in leaps and bounds. All the new users mean more follower notifications arriving in my inbox, and Twitter's default messages aren't very useful. (The direct message notifications are pretty bare-bones, too, but I don't get many of those so it wasn't a priority.)

Hacking on the new P2 WP theme Steven Osborn
I really like the new Prologue theme for Wordpress. It looks really clean, supports keyboard shortcuts and it buzzword compliant with the new micro-blogging UI. Unfortunately I’m a bit hard to please. I’m annoyed by the auto-generated titles in RSS feeds and I think displaying useful titles on your blog helps people skim. Lets be realistic no one wants to read all of the crap I spew about.

Posthaste WP Plugin jon smajda's blog
When reworking the theme for this blog, I decided I wanted to add the Twitter-style quick post box from the Prologue theme to my theme. Instead of adding it directly to my theme though, I decided to try to write it as a plugin. Lo and behold, I succeeded:

WordPress Hacks: Adding TinyMCE Editor to the Prologue Theme | Performancing.com
Fortunately, there's a really easy fix to this problem: TinyMCE editor. TinyMCE is a Javascript-based freeware editor. If you have a recent version of WordPress, it's the default "visual" editor that you get in the admin panel. Thanks to its easy integration features, we can use this as a replacement to the default HTML message editor in the Prologue theme. And you won't believe how incredibly easy it is to hack it. I think it took me about 2 minutes, not including download and installation. I'm actually surprised that Automattic didn't do it themselves.
