Btail monitors a logfile for specific events. To do this it uses a bayesian filter to determine what events are worth passing through and which should be suppressed.
So it filters out all of the routine stuff, but passes through anything important or out of the ordinary.

iphotoexport allows you to export and synchronize your iPhoto library to a folder tree. It preserves both the original and modified image, your event and album organization, and applies your iPhoto titles, descriptions, keywords, face tags, places, and ratings to the IPTC/EXIF metadata of your images. You can export a full copy of your library, or just build a tree of linked images that require very little additional disk space. You can re-run iphotoexport at any time to synchronize any changes made in iPhoto to your export tree quickly. iphotoexport works well with file-system based photo management tools like Picasa or Adobe Bridge.

As usual Jeff Atwood is dead on. Gruber is very much an apple kind of guy and the way he's been running markdown is a shame. The catch here is that the article is about how Markdown is an example of a poorly run open source project, rather than an article on how Gruber sucks.
