Snazzy article from the guardian, the thesis is, that money people would have been spending on music they steal appears to be going to DVD and Video Game sales. The part of the picture I think that is missing is the projected sales of Music if people HAD been buying music.

Steve Krause writes an indepth comparison of Pandora and Last.fm. Personally I came to the opposite of his conclusion but it's still a good read.
