Basement.org: The iPad & The Side Streets
We should all take Apple's lead in caring about and building great experiences for users. Apple is not evil. They build great experiences. They built a beautiful place for people to go. What the world needs isn't less Apple but more Apples. More enriching experiences. More options. More beautiful places to go. The Web is capable of anything…including hosting beautiful places to go. Apple isn't scary. Having only one Apple is scary.

Write When Inspired – Jeffrey Zeldman Presents The Daily Report
Write when inspired; rest when tired.

If you want to be great, or at least to be better, start by breathing, taking breaks, and working intensely when the mood is on.

Twitter and Copyright — “Twitterlogical: The Misunderstanding of Ownership”, by Brock Shinen, Esq.
Clearly, many people believe that everything we do, everything we post, everything we think in the online world is somehow protected. I suppose it makes sense if you are the one doing, posting, or thinking, but it’s not realistic. Since when did the online world cease to function in reality? Simply because people break the law online doesn’t mean there is no law- or worse yet, there is a different law for the Internet. The laws that exist in the offline world exist online as well – objectively.

On Permanence
The problem is that when we’re in front of that blinking cursor, everything is so easily editable that we get caught up in do-mode. When we try to review things, we think, “oh, that’s an easy fix, so I’ll do it right now,” and instantly return to do-mode. We keep bouncing back and forth between the two without maintaining the proper altitude to see the bigger picture. To use the forest-from-the-trees analogy, it looks something like this:

There Is No God : NPR
I believe that there is no God. I’m beyond atheism. Atheism is not believing in God. Not believing in God is easy — you can’t prove a negative, so there’s no work to do. You can’t prove that there isn’t an elephant inside the trunk of my car. You sure? How about now? Maybe he was just hiding before. Check again. Did I mention that my personal heartfelt definition of the word “elephant” includes mystery, order, goodness, love and a spare tire?
