import : Java Glossary
"If you have a class name used in more than one package, you will save yourself a lot of grief if you always fully qualify references to it, rather than relying on import. The computer may understand but, your fellow programmers will often be confused by the lack of qualification. Beware of java.util.List and java.awt.List."

College Confidential - View Single Post - Best calculator??
"Real engineers use Hp's. New interns and students use Ti. you can tell whos the new hire, by who is carrying a Ti. I use the Hp 50G and the 33S. I wont debate this subject here as I know I'm right, but HP makes the best calculators, the only reason Ti is popular is due to them buying out the market with bribes. There calculators actually do suck. If you are looking for the best graphing calculator its either the HP 48GX or the Hp 50G. For a scientific it is by far the 33S. If you plan to take the FE and PE then buy the 33S as the Ti 36 is awful."

Classless Inter-Domain Routing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
RE: Subnet masks. "However, in CIDR notation, the prefix bits are always contiguous, whereas subnet masks may specify non-contiguous bits. However, this has no practical advantage for increasing efficiency."

Also, a general note: "For routed subnets bigger than /31 or /32, two reserved addresses need to be subtracted from the number of available host addresses: the largest address, which is used as the broadcast address, and the smallest address, which is used to identify the network itself. It is also common for the IP gateway for that subnet to use an address, meaning that three addresses would have to be subtracted from the number of hosts that can be used on the subnet."
