PGFPlots draws high--quality function plots in normal or logarithmic scaling with a user-friendly interface directly in TeX. The user supplies axis labels, legend entries and the plot coordinates for one or more plots and PGFPlots applies axis scaling, computes any logarithms and axis ticks and draws the plots. It supports line plots, scatter plots, piecewise constant plots, bar plots, area plots, mesh-- and surface plots, patch plots, contour plots, quiver plots, histogram plots, polar axes, ternary diagrams, smith charts and some more.

If you have the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) for a publication, you can generate a citation for it in the BibTeX format.

The caption package provides many ways to customise the captions in floating environments like figure and table, and cooperates with many other packages. Facilities include rotating captions, sideways captions, continued captions (for tables or figures that come in several parts). A Perl/Tk-based GUI for easy access to package documentation for TeX on Unix platforms; the databases it uses are based on the texmf/doc subtrees of teTeX, but database files for local configurations with modified/extended directories can be derived from them. Note that texdoctk is not a viewer itself, but an interface for finding documentation files and opening them with the appropriate viewer; so it relies on appropriate programs to be installed on the system. However, the choice of these programs can be configured by the sysadmin or user.

One of the best known KDE BibTeX frontends is KBibTeX, developed by Thomas Fischer. KBibTeX sports many interesting features, including handy integration with Kile, an integrated editor for LaTeX built on the KDE Platform. KBibTeX is built on KDE 3.5; a port to KDE Platform 4 is in progress.

HEVEA is a quite complete and fast LATEX to HTML translator. HEVEA is written in Objective Caml.

HEVEA now renders symbols by using the so-called HTML “entites”. Modern browsers display those entities correctly most of the time. By contrast, previous versions of HEVEA were using a special (symbol) font and some configuration step of browser was needed. This configuration step is no longer needed.

Ekee produces images interactively from LaTeX expressions. Drag and drop in several common formats (PNG, SVG, PDF, EPS) to other applications is supported. Ekee can reopen the equations it has created in PNG format. It is free software, released under the GPL.

EpsTk stands for "Encapsulated PostSript Toolkit". The codebase consists of pure M-files (Octave or MATLAB script files), which may be used to create most standard 2D scientific graphics (line charts, bar charts, polar plots, contour plots, etc.). The M-files write EPS files.
