neercs – Caca Labs
may 2011 by Knusper2000
neercs is a work-in-progress libcaca project.
Like GNU screen, it allows you to detach a session from a terminal, but provides unique features:
* Grabbing a process that you forgot to start inside neercs
* Great screensaver
* 3D rotating cube to switch between full screen terms
* Real time thumbnails of your shells
* Special effects when closing a window
* Various window layouts...
neercs was written by Sam Hocevar, Jean-Yves Lamoureux and Pascal Terjan. It is free software, and can be used, modified and distributed under the terms of the Do What The Fuck You Want To Public License.

I enjoy a variety of geeky interests while living happily with my wife Erin—an amazing linguist, crafter, and artist—in sunny San Diego, California.
I’ve written several extensions for Emacs including its JSON parser and its LiveJournal client, ljupdate. I also contribute to ERC, an Emacs IRC client, and run Planet Emacsen. When not playing with Emacs, I run San Diego’s Django user group, I write code, and I contribute to 50ft, a local design blog.

It takes years maybe decades to master the commands available to you at the Linux shell prompt. Here are 10 that you will have never heard of or used. They are in no particular order. My favorite is mkfifo.
