JAME is an application for creating fractals and other graphics artifacts. JAME is written in Java language, with some native code to accelerate encoding of videos and images. JAME has a real-time, multi-threaded graphics engine with layers, filters, effects, a lot of formulas, and parameters. JAME supports operations such as continuous zoom of Mandelbrot and Julia sets, rotation and color shifting. JAME has also advanced features such as networked computation and scripting. You can take photos of your fractals or record movies from your exploration paths. Photos and movies are stored in a database to be rendered in high resolution and exported to a file. JAME can be extended by plug-ins which provide fractals, formulas, filters, effects and more. JAME is free software licensed under GPL.

Mandelbulber is an experimental application that helps to make rendering 3D Mandelbrot fractals much more accessible. A few of the supported 3D fractals: Mandelbulb, Mandelbox, BulbBox, JuliaBulb, Menger Sponge, Quaternion, Trigonometric, Hypercomplex, and Iterated Function Systems (IFS). All of these can be combined into infinite variations with the ability to hybridize different formulas together.

Mandelbulber is an easy to use, handy but experimental application designed to help you render 3D Mandelbrot fractals such as the Mandelbulb and some other kind of 3D fractals like the Mandelbox, BulbBox, JuliaBulb, Menger Sponge, and Iterated Function Systems (IFS).

wmMand is a Window Maker dockapp that allows you to browse or explore the Mandelbrot fractal. Although designed for Window Maker, it works fine with most other window managers.

This new edition has been thoroughly revised throughout. The appendices of the original edition were taken out since more recent publications cover this material in more depth. Instead of the focussed computer programs in BASIC, the authors provide 10 interactive JAVA-applets for this second edition.
