Regent Ferlic won't seek 3rd term (Leslie Reed, Omaha World-Herald)
" Ferlic was on the losing side of a November 2009 effort to restrict embryonic stem cell research at the University of Nebraska. It would have taken a five-vote majority to stop NU scientists from moving forward with the research. Ferlic was one of only four regents who voted for the restrictions.

" Sandy Danek of Lincoln, board president of Nebraska Right to Life, said she was disappointed to hear of Ferlic's decision to leave the board. She said her organization hopes another pro-life candidate will step up to run for the office. "
