The Card Game - How Visa, Using Fees Behind Its Debit Card, Dominates a Market - Series - NYTimes.com
Every day, millions of Americans stand at store checkout counters and make a seemingly random decision: after swiping their debit card, they choose whether to punch in a code, or to sign their name. It is a pointless distinction to most consumers, since the price is the same either way. But behind the scenes, billions of dollars are at stake.

2D Boy: I love you, 2D Boy! » Blog Archive » Pay-What-You-Want Birthday Sale Results
“Huge success” is a pretty vague term, and we’re not going to leave you hanging.  The purpose of this post is to share the data we’ve collected during the experiment, not do draw conclusions.  This is just one data point about how this kind of pricing methodology can work, and we would need other developers to try it with different games and under different circumstances in order to be able to draw any real conclusions.  One thing we can say for sure, is that a large reason this experiment generated so many sales, is the huge amount of press and blog coverage it got.  We want to thank everyone who bought the game in the last week, and everyone who helped spread the word!

WSJ.com
Your parents might have worried when you chose Philosophy or International Relations as a major. But a year-long survey of 1.2 million people with only a bachelor's degree by PayScale Inc. shows that graduates in these subjects earned 103.5% and 97.8% more, respectively, about 10 years post-commencement. Majors that didn't show as much salary growth include Nursing and Information Technology.

Barack's Brilliant Economic Plan Would Be A True Game Changer, In A Good Way
Obamanomics sounds pretty nice, and refreshing. It's different than standard Democrat or Republican rhetoric. Other than the lending institution for governments at the state and local level, allowing you to withdrawal from your retirement savings (just a little) sounds kind of like a pragmatic libertarian. And it might work.

Ten Thousand Cents
"Ten Thousand Cents" is a digital artwork that creates a representation of a $100 bill. Using a custom drawing tool, thousands of individuals working in isolation from one another painted a tiny part of the bill without knowledge of the overall task. Workers were paid one cent each via Amazon's Mechanical Turk distributed labor tool. The total labor cost to create the bill, the artwork being created, and the reproductions available for purchase are all $100. The work is presented as a video piece with all 10,000 parts being drawn simultaneously. The project explores the circumstances we live in, a new and uncharted combination of digital labor markets, "crowdsourcing," "virtual economies," and digital reproduction.
