A I S L E 1 6 . C O . U K » Blog Archive » Review of Gauntlet (Atari, 1985)
“The original Gauntlet was released with no ending. The hundred or so levels were randomised and looped for as long as play lasted. Atari saw Gauntlet as a process, a game that was played for its own sake and not to reach completion. The adventurers continue forever until their life drains out, their quest ultimately hopeless.”

2D Boy: I love you, 2D Boy! » Blog Archive » Pay-What-You-Want Birthday Sale Results
“Huge success” is a pretty vague term, and we’re not going to leave you hanging.  The purpose of this post is to share the data we’ve collected during the experiment, not do draw conclusions.  This is just one data point about how this kind of pricing methodology can work, and we would need other developers to try it with different games and under different circumstances in order to be able to draw any real conclusions.  One thing we can say for sure, is that a large reason this experiment generated so many sales, is the huge amount of press and blog coverage it got.  We want to thank everyone who bought the game in the last week, and everyone who helped spread the word!

Heavy Rain at E3: personal, third-person journey into hell - Ars Technica
Exploring, trying different things, and accepting the outcomes are all part of the game. "There's no such thing as failure or winning or losing, you're creating a story. We have four characters, and any one of them can die at any point, and the story continues. It's just that character's storyline has been removed from your story." There will be autosaves, and if you fall into an outcome that bothers you, it's possible to go back and replay it. The hope is that you'll just come to terms with having a dark story, and not use the auto-save often. So what happens if everyone dies? "You haven't failed. You've created a tragedy," Piaseckyz told me.

PS3Cluster Guide: By The Cluster Workshop
Our community guide allows you to set up your own MPI (Message Passing Interface) based supercomputer cluster with the Playstation 3. This guide was co-written by Gaurav Khanna, based on his previous work on the Gravity Grid and is a current run-time environment for the research of co-author (Chris Poulin), based on his current work in distributed pattern recognition. As such, we currently utilize the Fedora Core for this infrastructure and illustrate a "how-to" below. NOTE: We focus on the Fedora 8 distribution, due to prevalence of Fedora and its Cell SDK (3.0) compatibility. Finally, this content should be considered open source, and here is the license.
