When I was in college, as part of a summer internship I worked on a trading game where the commodities were physics buzzwords and their worth was how much they were cited in journals. It didn’t take off.

Urbanisation in Minecraft | CraftHub
july 2011 by jonschoning
I started playing Minecraft only a few months when it first came out: I don’t remember the exact date, but I believe it was somewhere around September 2009, possibly October. Right from the start I noticed that Minecraft was an exceptionally unique game, for a variety of reasons. Not only did it have a freedom in playing style unlike anything I had tried before, but Minecraft was a game of pattern.

Making of Doom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
july 2011 by jonschoning
The making of Doom, id Software's video game released on December 10, 1993, began in late 1992. Doom raised the bar for realism in video games with its then-advanced 3D graphics—central to its success was the new game engine by John Carmack, whose main advances included texture mapping of all surfaces, variable light levels, and floors at varying altitude. The world in Doom materialized through the artwork of Adrian Carmack, Kevin Cloud and Gregor Punchatz, and the level design of John Romero, Sandy Petersen and Tom Hall.

For a few months late last year I spent all of my free time working on an iPhone game by the name of Bullseye Factory. Making iPhone games is just a hobby, but this time I really liked the concept I’d come up with and I was very passionate about seeing it through. I convinced my sister to do all the graphics while I did all the programming, etc. and we ended up with what I think is a pretty polished title.
