Yale’s fancy new NFC-controlled lock. The touch-screen locks use a companion app on an NFC (near field communication) phone (in the demo video, an iPhone with an NFC case is used). Science On a Sphere is a NOAA project typically using four projectors to display planetary data on a six foot diameter sphere.  As a federal agency, NOAA publishes data that is not copyrightable.  These public domain datasets are pretty impressive, ranging from plate tectonics to solar storms.  They are also insanely high resolution, with mp4 videos and jpg images at 2048x1024 and 4096x2048.

The Verbalizer - An open source board to use with Google's Voice Search for Desktop
Out of the box, the Verbalizer connects wirelessly to your computer via Bluetooth and when triggered, opens google.com in a new tab and activates Voice Search. An audio notification is played signaling google is ready for your query, which is spoken into the on-board mic. The board is Arduino compatible and we left some I/O pins open, so it's easy for anyone to jump in and create something nutty with it.

DraftFCB turned the Dockers Facebook page into a ‘Slot Machine’ for a chance to win a free pair of Alpha Khaki pants. The photo strip at the top of the page reloaded with a new set of characters every time the user clicked refresh. The first person to tweet a screenshot of the page when it read ‘ALPH@’ to @DockersKhakis won a pair of their new Alpha Khakis. This innovative use of social media was a first for Facebook.
