This is pretty incredible - campaign finance and lobbying data going back to 1989, in a scrubbed CSV. They also offer a number of APIs and enhanced politician profiles.

Well written, clear piece on the problem with big ticket live shows. Basically, Ticketmaster could stop scalping but there's too much money for them to lose and they're likely to simply skip the middle man and move to a straight auction system for at least some of their tickets in the not too distant future.
