3rd party browsers come to the iPhone, all suck
I don't want to sound like I hate freedom or something, but sometimes you have to question the "competition is good for everyone" thinking. I'm sure someday someone will come up with a mobile browser that will be TEH AWETHOME but today is not that day. I'm guessing the reason it took these browsers so long to hit the store has less to do with Apple's "high horse" and more to do with the fact that they all blow.

Ryan Irelan's UNC iPhone fan pack
Some might ask "Why create an iPhone app just for UNC? Why not all of college basketball?" Because no other team matters is why. Ryan gets it.

PhoneGap aims to make iPhone app development easy for webdevs
Wraps the mobile Webkit in a framework that gives it access to the iPhone APIs like the accelerometer and geo location. Building a native app should be as easy as building a web app.

Japanese iPhones always have a shutter sound to deter upskirt photos
Apparently, this feature is unique to Japanese versions of the 3G iphone. The shutter always sounds, even in silent mode.

Some students at the University of Glasgow added sensory feedback to the iPhone keyboard
Just a proof of concept for now, but an intriguing way to add haptic functionality to touchscreens using the phone's vibration sensors

Apple is giving $100 store credit to early adopters bitching about the iPhone price reduction
"Even though we are making the right decision to lower the price of iPhone, and even though the technology road is bumpy, we need to do a better job taking care of our early iPhone customers as we aggressively go after new ones with a lower price."

The MS Exchange team has a blog post about using your iPhone with Exchange
Lotta FUD in this one and the bottom line is: Apple or some third party app developer needs to license the Exchange protocols and create a real solution. As soon as that happens, they'll be getting my $600.

Gruber thinks that the iPhone just might topple the Exchange hegemony
Personally, I want to believe, but I know at least six people that I work with (plus me) who won't be getting iPhones until they sync with Exchange. In fact, the only person in our company who plans on getting an iPhone is a secretary.
