Mail goggles aims to stop you from sending an email you might later regret
Only active at night and on the weekends, this gmail labs experiment forces you to solve a quick math problem before dashing off that email you might later regret. I love it!

Ars has a really great breakdown of the White House email system
And, more interestingly, how the Bush administration failed at basic accounting of that email system as required by the Federal Records Act

The MS Exchange team has a blog post about using your iPhone with Exchange
Lotta FUD in this one and the bottom line is: Apple or some third party app developer needs to license the Exchange protocols and create a real solution. As soon as that happens, they'll be getting my $600.

Kiwi is (supposedly) a next generation IMAP client
I like that they're focusing on IMAP (why would anyone put up with POP3 these days) and that it's open source but it doesn't appear that I'll be giving up on Mail.app any time soon.

If that's true, my pockets just might be $600 lighter come Monday

Gruber thinks that the iPhone just might topple the Exchange hegemony
Personally, I want to believe, but I know at least six people that I work with (plus me) who won't be getting iPhones until they sync with Exchange. In fact, the only person in our company who plans on getting an iPhone is a secretary.

E-mail is not a platform for design
"E-mail was invented so people could quickly exchange text messages over fast or slow or really slow connections, using simple, non-processor-intensive applications on any computing platform, or using phones, or hand-held devices, or almost anything else

NBC buys R|Mail, RSS to email gateway
Man, that's weird. Seriously, this feels like the brainchild some TV person who doesn't understand RSS. Not that there's anything wrong with being a TV person - I love TV people! Especially you.

MailTags 2.0 Public Beta is here!
Adds tagging to Mail.app and now, finally! supports IMAP. $30 is a tad spendy, but if the productivity gains everything they say, I'm in.
