Adobe launcing online office suite, integrates Flash and Acrobat
Starting with an online word processor, whiteboard app and file sharing. No MS Office killer yet but interesting to see Adobe continue into online services

What Google Gears means for Rich Internet Applications and Apollo
A few things I missed earlier: Gears is a collaboration with Mozilla, Adobe and Opera (Apple?). Apollo will support Gears.

Adobe releases Flex as open source
The whole SDK, from the Actionscript components to the Java-based compilers. That's certainly one way to piss Microsoft off.

Adobe responds to the Microsoft PDF export thing
Oh please, this is horse shit. I'm the last person to defend Microsoft or their buinsess practices, but this is classic corporate-speak BS. If you're going to make something an open standard, make it truly open, even for convicted monopolists. This just m

The demos look sweet. I've been using scriptaculous for some rapid prototyping stuff at work, this could be a replacement contender.

The Shadowland/Lightroom Development Story

Adobe completes acquisition of Macromedia
"Our long-term plan is to develop a 'universal client' by combining PDF, Flash and HTML in a single, integrated runtime." Crap. You know, when other companies try to be Microsoft, Microsoft wins.

Adobe to acquire Macromedia in $3.4 billion dollar deal
Since the two really haven't been competing in the same space for a while (does anyone use Fireworks? Did anyone use LiveMotion?), I'm not sure this is bad. Hopefully we'll just get some kickass software out of Macrodobemedia
