No more Anthony Weiner for wife Huma
june 2011 by inboxnews
Anthony Weiner's wife is taking time off from her senior job with the State Department -- as well as time off from the randy former representative, The Post has learned.
While Weiner, 46, heads to an "intensive" rehab program to recover from the sexting scandal that cost him his congressional career, his 35-year-old spouse, Huma Abedin, will be relaxing at an undisclosed location.
"She is definitely taking time off away from her husband and chilling," a source said. "And he's going some place for at least a couple of weeks."

Dems Prepare to Strip Weiner
june 2011 by inboxnews
House Democratic leaders could begin the process of taking away Rep. Anthony Weiner’s committee assignments today as part of a final push to force him from office, even as a minor backlash against calls for his resignation has emerged from one corner of the caucus.
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her leadership team plan to meet at noon Thursday to confer about plans to increase pressure on the scandal-scarred New York Democrat to give up his seat. Democratic sources familiar with earlier discussions say they may choose to call for a caucus vote on the matter next week.

Sgt. Schultz returns to MSNBC, Calls for Weiner’s Resignation
june 2011 by inboxnews
He says he takes full responsibility? I take issue with that. Not really. After nude pictures came out and he couldn’t manage it anymore then the responsibility started. I think that this is an issue of character. Now, as an American worker, put yourself in the Congressman’s position: he’s tweeting pictures to a girl, half his age, on company time, and lying about it to the boss. By the way, you’re the taxpayer. You’re the boss.

X-rated photo of Anthony's Weiner hits the web
june 2011 by inboxnews
He's been caught with his pants down.
An apparent photo of Rep. Anthony Weiner's penis made its way onto the Internet today after it was tweeted by two radio DJs.
Andrew Breitbart, the conservative blogger who had a copy of the photo and exposed Weiner as a Facebook perv, showed the photo to Sirus XM shock jocks Opie and Anthony during an appearance this morning.
Breitbart, who said he would not publish the photo on his website BigGovernment.com earlier this week, reportedly showed the DJs the pic on his iPhone.
The radio DJ's took a snapshot of the pic, which was published on Gawker.com.

Congressman Weiner: 'The Picture Was of Me and I Sent It' - ABC News
june 2011 by inboxnews
Rep. Anthony Weiner of New York said today he has engaged in "several inappropriate" electronic relationships with six women over three years, and that he publicly lied about a photo of himself sent over Twitter to a college student in Seattle over a week ago.
"I take full responsibility for my actions," Weiner said. "The picture was of me, and I sent it."
The announcement came as ABC News prepared to release an interview with Meagan Broussard, a 26-year-old single mother from Texas who provided dozens of photos, emails, Facebook messages and cell phone call logs that she says chronicle a sexually-charged electronic relationship with Weiner that rapidly-evolved for more than a month, starting on April 20, 2011.
ABC News reached out to Weiner earlier today for comment about his possible ties to Broussard, but he did not respond to requests for an interview. At a press conference, Weiner later confirmed Broussard was one of the women with whom he sexted.

Anthony Weiner Apologizes For Lying
june 2011 by inboxnews
Embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner admitted to posting lewd photos of himself on Twitter at a Monday afternoon press conference.
While addressing the media at the Sheraton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, Weiner made the following statement: “Last Friday night I tweeted a photograph of myself that I intended to send as direct message as part of a joke to a woman in Seattle. Once I realized I posted it to Twitter, I panicked, I took it down and said that I had been hacked. I then continued with that story to stick to that story which was a hugely regrettable mistake.”

Another Woman Comes Forward Claiming Cache of Intimate Photos and Online Communications with Anthony Weiner
june 2011 by inboxnews
A new woman has come forward with what she claims are photographs, chats, and emails with Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY). These appear to undermine severely Rep. Weiner’s explanations that he was the victim of a “prank” or a “hack.”
The detailed new information suggests that the Brooklyn- and Queens-based representative and the young woman in question were involved in an online, consensual relationship involving the mutual exchange of intimate photographs.
BigGovernment.com and BigJournalism.com were approached regarding this information more than a week prior to the separate, independent event of Friday, May 27, 2011, when a link to the now-infamous “gray underwear” photograph appeared publicly on Rep. Weiner’s Twitter feed.
We will be updating BigGovernment.com and BigJournalism.com throughout the day with photographs, timelines, and other clarifying details. However, we will not be releasing all of the material because some of it is of an extreme, graphic nature.

WEINER'S TALE UNRAVELING
june 2011 by inboxnews
As the world has attempted to make sense of Rep. Anthony Weiner’s claim that his Twitter account was hacked, a key clue has been missing: exactly how the notorious groin pic was posted online.
But according to data provided exclusively to The Daily from TweetCongress.org, a nonprofit website that captures each member of Congress’s Twitter feeds in real time, the shot seen round the world was transmitted using TweetDeck — a popular Adobe desktop application that links up with social networking sites. A review of Weiner’s Twitter stream from May 27, the day of the crotch pic, shows that Weiner had been posting only from TweetDeck — one of many ways to post messages to Twitter — that entire night.
Chet Wisniewski, a senior security adviser at security software company SophosLabs, said the TweetDeck stamp “does make it more plausible that it did come from him.”
Weiner used TweetDeck frequently, but he often also posted from the Web directly or from his BlackBerry...

Rep. Anthony Weiner's wife Huma Abedin puts on brave face amidst husband's lewd Twitter photo scandal
june 2011 by inboxnews
She's standing by her Weiner -- but that act seems to be wearing thin.
Rep. Anthony Weiner's humiliated wife sheepishly showed her face at a Washington event yesterday, keeping a stiff upper lip amid the swirling scandal surrounding her husband's tawdry Twitter photo.
Huma Abedin, 34, briefly hesitated at the State Department ballroom door before working up the courage to go in -- but she left after just five minutes and steered clear of her boss, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
While she put on a brave face inside the Beltway, her husband was busy weaseling out of a long-scheduled speaking engagement at last night's Wisconsin Democratic Convention.

Democrats Pushing Weiner
june 2011 by inboxnews
Members of the House Democratic leadership have talked repeatedly to Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-New York, to try to get him to end what several Democrats call an unwelcome political distraction, a member of the party's leadership tells CNN.
"It's frustrating because we'll talk to him, and say clean it up, and then he goes out and does stuff," said the member of the House Democratic leadership, who declined to speak for the record about private discussions with Weiner.
"He's got to put the period at the end of the sentence," said the Democratic source, "it's painful."

Weiner Grilled

If Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) wants to convince us he’s the innocent victim of a hacker, he might not be doing the best job. Yesterday during a Capitol Hill press conference, he repeatedly and angrily refused to answer simple yes/no questions such as, “Is that you in that picture?” and “Did you send that picture?” and “Are the police investigating?” Instead, he claimed his previous statements answered those questions already, even though they really didn’t. Oh yeah, and he called one guy a rude name for asking. NY Post: “[Weiner] flashed a tight, uncomfortable smile and avoided eye contact as he tried to deflect point-blank questions from reporters about whether or not he had sent a crotch shot of himself in underwear to a 21-year-old co-ed in Seattle. ‘Was it from you or not,’ demanded CNN’s Capitol Hill producer Ted Barrett. To which the squirming Weiner replied: ‘If I were giving a speech to 45,000 people and someone in the back threw a pie or yelled out an insult,
