Amateur video: Deadly plane crash at Reno, Nevada air show
september 2011 by inboxnews
A WWII-era plane has crashed into the box seat area at an air race event in Reno, Nevada, killing at least three people and injuring more than 50. The plane spiralled out of control and came down into crowds in the stands, disintegrating upon impact. Eyewitnesses reported scores of blooded bodies at the scene after the tragedy occurred.
The injured have been rushed to hospital. Out of 56 people hurt, 15 are said to be in a critical condition. Mike Houghton, president and CEO of the Reno Air Races, told a news conference that pilot Jimmy Leeward had died in the crash, Associated Press reports. The 74-year-old veteran Hollywood stunt pilot was the owner of the Leeward Air Ranch Racing Team and a well-known racing pilot.
Leeward's "Galloping Ghost" plane was a P-51 Mustang fighter -- a class of plane that can fly at speeds in excess of 500 mph (800kph). Houghton said there appeared to be a "problem with the aircraft that caused it to go out of control".

Tea Party members confront Obama (w/Video)
august 2011 by inboxnews
President Obama came face-to-face with the Tea Party last night in Iowa, clashing with members during and after a town hall last night.
Ryan Rhodes, a group leader in the Hawkeye State, stood up and shouted a question during a town hall asking the president how he can call for more civility when "your vice president is calling people like me, a Tea Party member, a 'terrorist.'"
Obama, who had not called on the man, said the town hall wouldn't work "if you just stand up when I asked everybody to raise their hand ... I didn't see you. I wasn't avoiding you ... Please."
After calling another person, Obama circled back to address Rhodes' question: "First of all, in fairness to this gentleman who raised a question, I absolutely agree that everybody needs to try to tone down the rhetoric."

Amazing Video of Phoenix Dust Storm
july 2011 by inboxnews
These amazing pictures from the United States show a wall of dust moving through the city of Phoenix in Arizona. Sandstorms like this happen during the region's monsoon season, which is underway. They occur over desert land and can reach thousands of feet into the air, spurred by strong winds. The dense cloud dramatically reduced visibility, grounding flights at a major airport and leaving thousands without electricity.

Glenn Beck: I Am Leaving Fox News With My Soul
june 2011 by inboxnews
"As a guy who has traded my soul before, I will not trade it again. Never want anything too much. Never. It will destroy you. It all comes down to this: I learned the hard way who I was. We as a country now have a chance to learn who we are, what we're capable of, what we truly believe before we're forced to learn it the hard way. Now is time to be a part of the solution. Now is the time to stand up. Now is the time to explore before it gets too bad," Glenn Beck said on his show's finale.

Someone Takes Credit For Creating Rebecca Black's “Friday” Video
june 2011 by inboxnews
In apparent anticipation of a legal fight over control of Rebecca Black’s “Friday,” the creators of the YouTube hit filed to copyright the video, records show.
Christopher Lowe and Ian Hotchkiss, whose Los Angeles-based Suite 7 Productions company was hired to make Black’s video, registered the work with the United State Copyright Office on March 23, about 10 days after the song started to become a (much-derided) Internet sensation.
“Friday” was removed yesterday from YouTube and replaced with the message, “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Rebecca Black.” Besides the Lowe-Hotchkiss filing, a review of online records turns up no other attempts to register a “Friday” copyright.

Obama's limo stuck on speed bump (video)
may 2011 by inboxnews
This is no ordinary limousine. Rumored to be built on a heavy-duty truck chassis, this stretched Cadillac boasts armor plating all around, window glass thick enough to stop bullets and enough high-tech communications equipment to run the entire United States from the comfort of its leather-lined back seat. You'd think it would take a nuclear bomb to halt the progress of President Obama's black Cadillac.
Apparently, all it really takes is one particularly nasty speed bump.
Just below the break you'll find a video shot by a casual passer-by that shows the Presidential Limousine (also known as "The Beast") getting high-centered on the apparently oversize down-ramp that exits the parking lot of the American Embassy (in other words, on U.S. soil) in Dublin, Ireland.
