Exploring the relationship with academic self-efficacy and middle school students' performance on a high-stakes mathematics test

Self-efficacy scores did not significantly interact with gender, but did decrease significantly (as do passing rates on the high stakes TAKS mathematics test) as grade level increased – a sobering trend, with implications for pedagogical/curricular approaches/interventions.
