About OREMA | OREMA
The Online Repository for Electroacoustic Music Analysis (OREMA) project is a community-based forum where analysts of electroacoustic music can post their analyses of electroacoustic music compositions. It allows people with different ideas of analysis a space to discuss why they choose to analyse a piece in a certain way. The aim of the project is to gauge whether a community initiative can aid an analyst's understanding of a work, whilst helping them conduct an analysis themselves.

INScore
INScore is an environment for the design of Interactive Augmented Music Scores.

An Augmented Score is a graphic space providing representation, composition and manipulation of heterogeneous music objects (music scores but also images, text, signals...), both in the graphic and time domains. For all objects of the score, it formally defines the properties required to address and to synchronize them in the graphic space, according to their temporal relationship. In addition, it supports the representation of the music performance, considered as a specific sound or gesture instance of the score.

An Interactive Score is a music score that you can interact with in real-time. For example, you can design the score while you're playing the music.

These two approaches of the music score contribute to dynamically relate a symbolic music object to its performance.

MusicBrainz Picard - MusicBrainz
MusicBrainz Picard is a cross-platform (Linux/Mac OS X/Windows) application written in Python and is the official MusicBrainz tagger.

Picard supports the majority of audio file formats, is capable of using audio fingerprints (PUIDs, AcoustIDs), performing CD lookups and disc ID submissions, and it has excellent Unicode support. Additionally, there are several plugins available that extend Picard's features.

When tagging files, Picard uses an album-oriented approach. This approach allows it to utilize the MusicBrainz data as effectively as possible and correctly tag your music. For more information, see the illustrated quick start guide to tagging.

Picard is named after Captain Jean-Luc Picard from the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation.

MIRtoolbox — Humanistinen tiedekunta
MIRtoolbox offers an integrated set of functions written in Matlab, dedicated to the extraction from audio files of musical features such as tonality, rhythm, structures, etc. The objective is to offer an overview of computational approaches in the area of Music Information Retrieval. The design is based on a modular framework: the different algorithms are decomposed into stages, formalized using a minimal set of elementary mechanisms. These building blocks form the basic vocabulary of the toolbox, which can then be freely articulated in new original ways.

Karlheinz Essl: FontanaMixer 2.0 - generative sound environment for Mac OS X
FontanaMixer is a generative sound environment based on John Cage's conceptual piece "Fontana Mix" (1958) which can be seen as a set of instructions for creating any number of compositions. The "score" supplies a number of transparent foils with dots, lines and graphs which have to be overlapped in random positions and placed over a page that contains 6 curved and intermingled lines. By measuring positions of crossing lines one will obtain 6 parameter values which are needed to determine a single sound event.

Risset rhythm - eternal accelerando
Roger Shepard invented a method for creating a musical scale which can seem to increase in pitch forever. Jean-Claude Risset extended this and applied it to rhythm as well as pitch, realising that a sound could be created whose tempo appeared to speed up (or slow down) indefinitely.

Here's one way to achieve this effect in SuperCollider, taking a recorded breakbeat as a basis:
