Fourier Series Applet
This java applet demonstrates Fourier series, which is a method of expressing an arbitrary periodic function as a sum of cosine terms. In other words, Fourier series can be used to express a function in terms of the frequencies (harmonics) it is composed of.

No, really, pi is wrong: The Tau Manifesto by Michael Hartl | Tau Day, 2010
The Tau Manifesto is dedicated to one of the most important numbers in mathematics, perhaps the most important: the circle constant relating the circumference of a circle to its linear dimension. For millennia, the circle has been considered the most perfect of shapes, and the circle constant captures the geometry of the circle in a single number. Of course, the traditional choice for the circle constant is π—but, as mathematician Bob Palais notes in his delightful article “π Is Wrong!”1, π is wrong. It’s time to set things right.

Graph -- from Wolfram MathWorld
The word "graph" has (at least) two meanings in mathematics.

In elementary mathematics, "graph" refers to a function graph or "graph of a function," i.e., a plot.

In a mathematician's terminology, a graph is a collection of points and lines connecting some (possibly empty) subset of them.

Project Euler
A website dedicated to the puzzling world of mathematics and programming

Project Euler is a series of challenging mathematical/computer programming problems that will require more than just mathematical insights to solve. Although mathematics will help you arrive at elegant and efficient methods, the use of a computer and programming skills will be required to solve most problems.

J - High-Performance development platform
J is a modern, high-level, general-purpose, high-performance programming language. J is portable and runs on Windows, Unix, Mac, and PocketPC handhelds, both as a GUI and in a console. True 64-bit J systems are available for XP64 or Linux64, on AMD64 or Intel EM64T platforms. J systems can be installed and distributed for free.

Why J?

J is particularly strong in the mathematical, statistical, and logical analysis of data. It is a powerful tool in building new and better solutions to old problems and even better at finding solutions where the problem is not already well understood.

Histograms in Python
There are a number of important types of plots that are used in descriptive statistics. A common plot that is frequently used in newspapers and magazines is the histogram, a sequence of vertical bars, where the height of each bar represents a count of the data values falling in a "bin." The "count", "bins", and "bars" will be explained in the images that follow.

SciPy -Scientific Tools for Python
SciPy (pronounced "Sigh Pie") is open-source software for mathematics, science, and engineering. It is also the name of a very popular conference on scientific programming with Python. The SciPy library depends on NumPy, which provides convenient and fast N-dimensional array manipulation. The SciPy library is built to work with NumPy arrays, and provides many user-friendly and efficient numerical routines such as routines for numerical integration and optimization.

The Bridges Organization - The Bridges Organization: art and mathematics
The International annual conference of Bridges: Mathematical Connections in Art, Music, and Science was created in 1998 and is conducted annually. It has provided a remarkable model of how seemingly unrelated and even antipodal disciplines, such as mathematics and art, can be crossed. During the conference, practicing mathematicians, scientists, artists, educators, musicians, writers, computer scientists, sculptures, dancers, weavers, and model builders have come together in a lively and highly charged atmosphere of mutual exchange and encouragement.

The Power of Continuous Improvement
Mathematicians will tell you that the only way to learn math is to do math. Lots of it. The same is true in music and sports. While with math you quickly find out whether you’re right or wrong at a very atomic level with each problem you try to solve, with music a student listens to a song many times before she tries to emulate it — and then gets feedback on a note-by-note basis
