RFC 1630 - Universal Resource Identifiers in WWW
This document defines the syntax used by the World-Wide Web initiative to encode the names and addresses of objects on the Internet. The web is considered to include objects accessed using an extendable number of protocols, existing, invented for the web itself, or to be invented in the future. Access instructions for an individual object under a given protocol are encoded into forms of address string. Other protocols allow the use of object names of various forms. In order to abstract the idea of a generic object, the web needs the concepts of the universal set of objects, and of the universal set of names or addresses of objects.

Literary Magazine, Writers, Plimpton, Artists - Paris Review
Founded in Paris by Harold L. Humes, Peter Matthiessen, and George Plimpton in 1953, The Paris Review began with a simple editorial mission: “Dear reader,” William Styron wrote in a letter in the inaugural issue, “The Paris Review hopes to emphasize creative work—fiction and poetry—not to the exclusion of criticism, but with the aim in mind of merely removing criticism from the dominating place it holds in most literary magazines and putting it pretty much where it belongs, i.e., somewhere near the back of the book. I think The Paris Review should welcome these people into its pages: the good writers and good poets, the non-drumbeaters and non-axe-grinders. So long as they're good.”

Kyoko Kitamura -
Kyoko Kitamura is a vocal improviser and composer residing in Brooklyn. She does weird things with her voice and is often a side-person for various amazing musicians. Her own songs have mildly disturbing content which may stem from her experience as a one-time war reporter. She was also a Garfield comics translator in Japan.

Most recently, she can be heard on Anthony Braxton’s first ever studio-recorded opera “Trillium E.”

Algorithmic Music Composition With Linux - athenaCL | Linux Journal
Aug 16, 2010 By Dave Phillips
My experience with athenaCL has been a little different from my explorations of CM/Grace and CsoundAC. The system is organized in a unique manner that I found confusing at first. However, my initial confusion quickly gave way to amazement, and I must confess that I've become a devoted user.

The use of Python in CsoundAC, Steven Yi's blue, and Oeyvind Brandtsegg's ImproSculpt indicates that Python has a special affinity to the task of music composition by algorithm. Indeed, the language is extensible, relatively easy to learn, and performs decently on modern hardware. However, rendering audio in realtime is not one of Python's strengths, so in athenaCL the task gets handed off to a designated audio rendering subsystem such as Csound.

PythonEggs - The PEAK Developers' Center
"Eggs are to Pythons as Jars are to Java..."

Python eggs are a way of bundling additional information with a Python project, that allows the project's dependencies to be checked and satisfied at runtime, as well as allowing projects to provide plugins for other projects.

There are several binary formats that embody eggs, but the most common is '.egg' zipfile format, because it's a convenient one for distributing projects. All of the formats support including package-specific data, project-wide metadata, C extensions, and Python code.

JinHwa Choi, composer - home
My musical language is inspired by various aspects of life including painting, poetry and my own daily experiences. I have an Asian origin, Korean to be exact, but my music is not limited by that region. I combine Asian and Western musical characteristics in my works. My compositions tend to illustrate the impressions through boundary-less tonal and atonal language. I am also interested in creating electronic music and collaborating my music with art exhibitions.
