I was having a hard time articulating why that NYT article about Sri Lanka being an awesome travel destination was so annoying.

I haven't traveled TO the states since I was 18. I have traveled THROUGH the states, in transit to other parts of the world, and even that is a big pile of suck.

The West is apparently denying Sri Lankan visas, since Sri Lanka has been acting like a dick recently.
