Protestant Apologetics and Theology
The dove Noah released from the ark soared across the wide seas that engulfed the world, found no roost, and sought again the refuge of the great vessel. So man has departed from the truths of the bible, using wings of independence to seek distant horizons. But like the weary dove, through the years many have returned to the changeless certainty of God's Word following years of aimless flight. As one generation begins to drift from the Gospel, the following generation finds it anew, clinging tenaciously to its teachings as though they were the first to discover them.

ReligiousWorlds: Sources for Religion, Religions, Religious Studies
This site - www.religiousworlds.com - is an information source about religions and religious studies for scholars and students.
*****
This web site offers information about religious traditions that appeared at first in the Middle East or West Asia as well as ones from South and East Asia. (Traditions from Africa will take a place among them in future.) There are authorized copies of resources from two contributing scholars, too:
1) Research on the German historian of religion and theologian Rudolf Otto (1869-1937) by Gregory D. Alles.
2) The Fondarosa, a mirror of the original site in Ottawa that contains essays written by Marc Fonda.
If you are a journalist rather than student of religions, please consult religionsource and religionlink. If you are simply are in a hurry, and do not like to be troubled by details, then see the Big Religion Chart or the CIA World Factbook. If you need a quick reflection of your own preferred religious orientation, then try Belief-O-Matic.

RN 305/605: The Bible in the Medieval World
Professor: Deeana Klepper
Course Description: The Bible was of such importance to medieval Europeans that scarcely any aspect of life remained untouched by its influence. Turning to primary source readings as well as modern scholarship, this course will consider the place of Sacred Scripture in medieval European religion and culture. Subjects to explore will include: varieties of Biblical exegesis; learned and lay interaction with the text; issues of control and dissent, including the emergence of vernacular (non-Latin) Bibles and vernacular theology in Latin Christendom; Christian, Jewish and Muslim debate; and Biblical motifs and imagery in literature, drama, art, and political thought.

This site provides materials for Harvard University's Chaucer classes in the Core Program, the English Department, and the Division of Continuing Education. (Others of course are welcome to use it.) It provides a wide range of glossed Middle English texts and translations of analogues relevant to Chaucer's works, as well as selections from relevant works by earlier and later writers, critical articles from a variety of perspectives, graphics, and general information on life in the Middle Ages. At the moment the site concentrates on the Canterbury Tales, but the longer-term goal is to create a more general Chaucer page.

Northrop Frye's Theory of Archetypes
Northrop Frye working in the field of literature defined an archetype as a symbol, usually an image, which recurs often enough in literature to be recognizable as an element of one’s literary experience as a whole.  Another way of thinking about archetypes is to imagine that in some way it is possible to plot the important aspects of a story onto a graph.  If enough points from several stories were plotted a pattern would start to appear.  If one then drew a line that approximated the pattern that emerged in the points, that best fit line would be an archetype.  No story perfectly matches the archetype, and some stories will diverge from the archetype more than others.  Still, recognizing that a pattern exists can be a powerful tool in understanding and comparing literature.

Religion and Politics Are Welcome Here!
I began AllFaith.com in 1997 as a place to share the insights of my life long spiritual quest. Since then my views have significantly changed and developed. AllFaith.com shares a glimpse into my studies and experiences and is, in some ways, an archive of these. I do not believe everything written here to be correct (so I'd never expect you to!).
The rabbis, including Rebbe Y'shua ("Master Jesus") promise: "Seek and you will find." Since 1969 I have sought Truth through the world's religious, philosophical and spiritual systems and independent of them. While I do not have all the answers, after 40 plus years of research and practice I do understand the questions much better. For more on this see Here
My current understandings are more fully presented at my JewToo Website. If you would like to study these authentically, non-Trinitarian Messianic Jewish teachings I invite you to take our free online lessons at Yeshiva Beth HaShem.

CHRISTIANS GENERALLY KNOW THAT WE ARE IN A SPIRITUAL WAR. HOWEVER, THE CHRISTIAN ARMY HAS SOME PROBLEMS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. WE NEED TO STOP SHINING OUR ARMOR, SHARPENING OUR SWORDS AND KILLING OUR OWN WOUNDED. I WILL NOT PRESUME TO RIGHT THE WRONGS OF FOLLOWERS OF JESUS OR CLAIM TO BE AN EXPERT, BUT I WANT TO RAISE SOME POINTS, MAKE SUGGESTIONS, ASK QUESTIONS AND OCCASIONALLY EXPOSE HERESY.WE ARE AT WAR, AND SOULS ARE BEING LOST. WE NEED TO EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE OUR FAITH!

1 Pedro 3,15

Online Anglican resources at SoAJ
The Society of Archbishop Justus operates server computers to foster and further unity among Christians, especially Anglicans. We work to help make the Internet a living resource for the Anglican life and faith.
We have started gathering Anglican resources on our own computers and disks. Many sites have links to online resources; this is a good thing. We recommend Anglicans Online (http://anglicansonline.org/) as the best starting point for finding links to online resources. However, sooner or later the links have to point to a real computer with a real disk, and that computer needs to be up and running and available and have a good-quality link to the Internet. That's us.

Catholic Theology - to increase our understanding of the Faith
We cannot love what we do not know. Deepen the understanding and love can grow. When we strive to know the Ultimate Good, we will be drawn to a deeper love.
The study of God and his revelation is the object of theology. So what better study could we undertake if we wish to come to know God and inflame our love for Him?
For making quick progress, there is no better overview of Catholic theology than the Summa Theologica of St Thomas Aquinas. He is a sure guide. However, the Summa is a large work written in the 12th century.
Fortunately for us, Monsignor Paul Glenn, a teacher of philosphy and theology, wrote a precis of the famous work which will allow access to the wisdom of St Thomas in as short a time as possible. It is the perfect work for the modern catholic always in a hurry.
The "Summa" is Christian doctrine in scientific form; it is human reason rendering its highest service in defence and explanation of the truths of the Christian religion. It is the answer of the matured and saintly doctor to the question of his youth: What is God?

Thou shalt not commit logical fallacies
A logical fallacy is usually what has happened when someone is wrong about something. It's a flaw in reasoning. They're like tricks or illusions of thought, and they're often very sneakily used by politicians and the media to fool people.
Don't be fooled! This website and poster have been designed to help you identify and call out dodgy logic wherever it may raise its ugly, incoherent head.
If you see someone committing a logical fallacy, link them to the relevant fallacy to school them in thinky awesomeness and win the intellectual affections of those who happen across your comment by appearing clever and interesting e.g. yourlogicalfallacyis.com/strawman (rollover/click icons above).

Catholic Cuisine
Catholic Cuisine was founded by Jessica from Shower of Roses, in 2008, after noticing the need for an online source for finding and sharing "Recipes for Celebrating the Feasts and Seasons of the Liturgical Year."
Mealtime provides the perfect opportunity for observing these different seasons and feasts of the Catholic Church in our homes, the "Domestic Church." We are all, especially us moms, cooking and baking every day, why not sanctify these mealtimes and teach our children even more about our beautiful faith at the same time?
Jessica has asked a number of other inspiring Catholic mothers and bloggers to contribute here, and welcomes readers to submit recipes as well, ultimately creating this wonderful collection of "Catholic Cuisine."
