One mom wrote to me “This is a great site for moms with no clue. Now I am a hero to my children.” My goal is to instill a love for God and the Catholic church in children, and I plan to reach them with my site through their mothers and teachers. The Apostolate for Family Consecration is a U.S. Roman Catholic lay movement headquartered in Bloomingdale, Ohio. Founded in 1975 by Jerry and Gwen Coniker, it was given Pontifical Status in 2007.
The Apostolate describes its mission as being called "to consecrate families to the Holy Family and in the truths of our Faith in the spirit of Pope John Paul II, thus enabling them to live their baptismal vocation and be effective evangelizers and people of faith in the parishes and movements they belong to." Its motto is "All for the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus; all through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary; all in union with St. Joseph." The group is much influenced by St. Louis de Montfort and Pope John Paul II.

The 'Theology of the Body' is Pope John Paul II's integrated vision of the human person - body, soul, and spirit. As he explains, the physical human body has a specific meaning and is capable of revealing answers regarding fundamental questions about us and our lives:
Is there a real purpose to life and if so, what is it?
Why were we created male and female? Does it really matter if we are one sex or another?
Why were man and woman called to communion from the beginning? What does the marital union of a man and woman say to us about God and his plan for our lives?
What is the purpose of the married and celibate vocations?

Is it truly possible to be pure of heart?
All of these questions and many more are answered in Pope John Paul II's 129 Wednesday audiences, which were given between the years 1979 and 1984. John Paul II discusses who man was in the beginning, who he is now (after original sin), and who he will be in the age to come. Welcome to This Week for DinnerTM! My name is Jane Maynard. I don’t mind cooking but can’t ever come up with what to cook. I started this blog to keep myself on track and to get dinner ideas from friends…and it’s worked! Every Sunday I post my weekly dinner plan. TWFD friends then post their menus in the comments section, providing me (and everyone else) with fresh ideas week after week! I’m a busy mama, but I love good food…I keep it simple and yummy.

Hi, I'm Sandy. Five years ago I stocked up on beautiful glasses from the Dollar Store. As I started writing about dinner parties, I realized that this “icon” portrays a great message. It says that dinner parties are attainable, they are affordable, and that they can be beautiful even when on a budget.

Any sufficiently practiced skill is indistinguishable from magic.

It's so nice to come across a family food blog that shows not just pretty pictures of cute sandwich cut-outs next to elaborately crafted birthday cakes. You start to wonder — is this mother actually cooking for kids? If so, where are they in all the pictures? There is a lot real-life energy in this blog — you'll see Aimée's family everywhere from the kitchen to the garden. The homepage illustration picturing a scene of food-fueled mayhem under a high chair instantly makes harried moms feel like they've found a soul-mate in Aimée, but the recipes are nothing if not aspirational. Aimée worked as a chef before she had kids, and you can tell when you come across recipes like chocolate chip chili and glorious fruit cobblers. (Babble)

Because she doesn't hit you over the head with more "hilarious" tales about picky eaters or how "lucky" she is to have a child who eats sushi! She doesn't have to say anything about feeding a family because the featured food shouts "family" for her: Buckeyes, pizzelles, Italian wedding soup… it's a challenge to find a recipe in her collection that won't elicit the response, "Yeah, my kid would try that." Plus, how can you resist someone who describes her cooking philosophy like this: "Perfection is pride stepping on creativity. Write 'welcome' in the dust rather than waiting for a clean house to open your home. Laugh when your guest's child vomits on your couch because next month your child will pee on your friend's sofa." The “Cooking Canadian” (who draws her culinary inspiration from her Jamaican-raised mom and Sandwich-King dad) calls her site a hobby that blossomed into a passion — one that has her “dreaming of new flavor combinations and ingredients” at all hours. To celebrate her blog’s one-year anniversary, Dara recently unveiled her top 10 recipes: shrimp and pesto pizza , pan-fried brie cheese; and eight other yummy faves. (Babble)

Because she's not trying any complicated dishes here — the recipes veer toward old favorites like creamy pastas, spinach pancakes, tacos, and chocolate chip cookies made with real, fresh ingredients.
