Using Photographs to Enhance Videos of a Static Scene
We present a framework for automatically enhancing videos of a static scene using a few photographs of the same scene. For example, our system can transfer photographic qualities such as high resolution, high dynamic range and better lighting from the photographs to the video.

Bruce Lawson’s personal site  : JavaScript and screenreaders
For three years Jared Smith and his lovable chums at WebAIM have conducted a survey of screenreader users, analysed the result and posted them. This year’s results are out. Let’s take a moment to give them a round of applause.

There is much to digest, but one figure really caught my attention: only 1.6% of respondents had JavaScript disabled. Turning that round, 98.4% of screenreader users had JavaScript enabled.

What do users do on travel websites? | Econsultancy
We asked several users to test two of the UK’s largest travel companies’ websites: Thomas Cook and Thomson, to look for a suitable family holiday, and we reviewed the videos of their tests and analysed the results.

The findings list behaviours that travel websites should not seek to mitigate but rather that their designs, back end databases and content should actively seek to support.

nano touch homepage
Back-of-device touch input can enable pointing input on very small screens. This enables building new types of devices, such as touch-capable electronic jewelry. Here are four of the back-of-device designs we envision (a) pendant, (b) clip-on (b) watch, and (b) ring. Screen diagonals range from 2.5" to less than half an inch.

The Thinking Meat Project / Setting price expectations
People who are presented with a price in round numbers (e.g., $30 for a flash drive, or $200,000 for a house) are more likely to make a counter-offer that differs from the asking price in round numbers-in other words, that differs more significantly from the asking price. On the other hand, more precise prices ($29.95 or $197,500) get people thinking about more subtle differences, and they’re likely to come back with a counter-offer closer to the asking price.
