Bobby Owsinski's Big Picture Production Blog: Clapton's Guitar Tech
Here's a short interview with Jim Dickson, Eric Clapton's guitar tech of 30 years. He talks all about what it takes to be a guitar tech and the relationship with the artist that's required. Also interesting was how much the tech is required to think ahead before a particular gig or tour so he can anticipate the needs of the artist before even the artist knows them. There's a few good Clapton stories as well.

Eric's Archived Thoughts: JavaScript Will Save Us All
A while back, I woke up one morning thinking, John Resig’s got some great CSS3 support in jQuery but it’s all forced into JS statements. I should ask him if he could set things up like Dean Edwards‘ IE7 script so that the JS scans the author’s CSS, finds the advanced selectors, does any necessary backend juggling, and makes CSS3 selector support Transparently Just Work. And then he could put that back into jQuery.

Findings from the A LIST APART Survey, 2008
As we did in 2007, A List Apart and you teamed up to shed light on precisely who creates websites. Where do we live? What kind of work do we do? What are our job titles? How well or how poorly are we paid? How satisfied are we, and where do we see ourselves going?

Usability Research on Federated Login (Google OAuth & Federated Login Research)
Federated Login has been a "holy grail" in the identity community for a long time. We have known how to do the technical part for a long time. However the industry has constantly tried, and failed, to find a model that was (1) simple for end users, and (2) had a reasonable trust model between the RP (the relying party, which is the site you want to log into) and the IDP (the identity provider, who will identify you to the RP). Google has been experimenting with different user interface models for federated login using the following design principles:

24 ways: Diagnostic Styling
We’re all used to using CSS to make our designs live and breathe, but there’s another way to use CSS: to find out where our markup might be choking on missing accessibility features, targetless links, and just plain missing content.
