Building a webpage with accessibility and interoperability in mind: part 1 « Alistair Duggin's blog
I’m currently working on a rather large project at work, the BBC sport olympics website. Being one of the tech leads and a big advocate of accessibility and user experience I’ve been doing a lot of research and learning around making websites accessibility and trying to ensure that the site we deliver is accessible and usable by people with a wide range of abilities, devices and assistive technologies.

BBC's The Power of Nightmares: The Rise of the Politics of Fear | Brain Pickings
BBC’s The Century of the Self, an ambitious documentary on the history of consumerism, is one of our most read and shared pieces. Commenter Jeremy recently brought to our attention another excellent documentary by the same British documentarian and writer, Adam Curtis: The Power of Nightmares — a provocative three-part miniseries subtitled The Rise of the Politics of Fear, exploring the origins of radical Islamists and Neo-Conservatives through archival footage and Curtis’ characteristically insightful narration.

BBC - BBC Internet Blog: iPlayer Doesn't Require A TV Licence... Yet
A question I often get asked is whether you need a TV licence to watch BBC programmes over the internet. At the moment, the legal position is that you don't need a licence to watch TV purely on-demand, but you do if you are watching TV live (through any receiving device in the home).

BBC - Voices - The Voices Recordings
The clips are drawn from the Voices recordings – which capture 1,200 people in conversation. Some of the clips are people talking about language – slang, dialect, taboo words, accents. Other clips cover all sorts of subjects and simply offer a flavour of how we talk today.

The internet as a platform? Not as ISP bloodbath looms | The Register
In only its first month of service, iPlayer pushed up ISP costs by 200 per cent, from 6.1p per user to 18.3p per user. This obliges ISPs who are simply BT resellers - and most are - to order more pipes; yet there's no extra income.
