It is hard to tell what dissatisfied Ivan so. Perhaps it was just that anything stolen from Kaschei is cursed, in defeat or not, but Ivan's princess did not captivate him, and his kingdom did not interest him, and in the end he let a cousin take it all, and in the midst of things he slipped out one of the doors and lost himself in the woods.
